are provided at NO OR LOW COST to verified American Indians. To
qualify, documentation of American Indian heritage is needed. Verified
Indian patients with Share-of-Cost Medi-Cal automatically reduce their
deductible for the current month each time they receive care at the
CENTER.
Unverified Indians and anyone without private insurance will be provided care on a sliding basis (proof of income needed). No American Indian will be denied care. The CENTER is a fully-licensed community clinic. Besides sliding fee cash/check payment, Medi-Cal, Medi-Care, Tri-Care (CHAMPUS) and many private insurance plans are accepted. Children (20 years old and under) are eligible to receive free physical examinations under the Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP). Although our emphasis is the urban American Indian population, the CENTER is open to everyone regardless of race, color, gender, age, ancestry, mental and physical abilities, religion, socio-economic status, and national origin. All American Indians are eligible for care regardless of residency or tribal affiliation. |
