Dr. Steven Gardner brings more than three decades of clinical and leadership experience in infectious disease and hospital epidemiology to our Board. He practiced infectious disease at Sharp Memorial Hospital for 33 years, serving in both inpatient and outpatient care, and provided specialized consultation in infectious disease.
He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease and has held multiple leadership positions including Chairman of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and Director of Antibiotic Stewardship at Sharp Memorial Hospital. He previously chaired infection control committees across several San Diego hospitals, contributing to system-wide infection prevention and safety standards.
A fellow of the American College of Physicians and active member of several national medical societies, Dr. Gardner has also contributed to medical education and scholarship as a former Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCLA and through published research presented at national conferences.
