Gemma Santiago is a licensed clinical social worker with credentials to practice independently in California and Ohio. She holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and proudly served 13 years in the U.S. Navy before transitioning to a civilian career in mental health.
Gemma brings a deep commitment to service shaped by her experience across a wide range of clinical settings—including state prisons, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, adult daycare facilities, rapid re-housing programs, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, and telehealth. Her passion lies in working with underserved populations, with a special focus on geriatric communities and individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Originally from the Philippines, Gemma speaks fluent Tagalog and believes in the power of culturally responsive care to build meaningful connections. Her multifaceted journey in mental health has reinforced her dedication to expanding access to compassionate, quality care for those who need it most.
Outside of her clinical work, Gemma is a devoted sports fan, a Star Wars enthusiast, and an avid home baker who delights in sharing her kitchen creations with colleagues and friends.
