Kathryn “Kat” Callaghan (Hopi) has been in the mental health field for over 12 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Stanford University and her Master’s degree at Loyola Marymount University. After graduate school, she worked as an Art Therapist for adolescent females in a group home and provided therapeutic support for families and children in Los Angeles. Prior to working at SDAIHC, she managed a behavioral health team and served as a therapist at Indian Health Council, Inc. in Valley Center. She also has experience in leading art therapy groups on reservations. Currently at SDAIHC, Kat is in a hybrid role with various responsibilities at the youth center, and as a therapist with individual adults, couples, families, children, and adolescents.
